This will be a strategy session for local action in the statewide advocacy campaign supporting redistricting and eliminating gerrymandering through passage of Proposition 11. The Laguna Beach Unit will show the DVD recommended by LWVUS, "Uncounted". If you missed seeing "Uncounted" at unit meetings last Spring, you can see it at the Laguna Beach Unit meeting on Sept. 13th.

Speaker: Dr. Don McCanne Information & RSVP 949 400-2183 Dr. McCanne will present and compare the health care programs of Obama and McCain and the single payer programs currently being considered in Congress and state legislatures. The significant number of uninsured in the United States is evidence of our country's health care crisis. As well, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation, insurance premiums rose 87% between 2000 and 2006. During the same period wages only rose 19%, an increase of 1,084% over five years
